What it won’t do
Every AI vendor lists strengths. These are the limits, so you can plan around them instead of discovering them.
- It is an attendance record, not a legal timekeeping certification — verify it meets your own audit requirements before retiring an existing system.
- Employees must be informed and enrolled with consent. That is a policy step we will not skip on your behalf.
- Very high-throughput gates benefit from a dedicated camera at face height; a general overview camera will miss people.
Attendance automation — common questions
Can this replace our biometric fingerprint machine?
For most sites, yes. Face recognition at the gate produces the same record with no contact, no queue and no failure on damaged or dirty fingers. Sites usually run both for two weeks before retiring the machine.
Does it stop buddy punching?
Yes — that's an inherent property of the method. A face cannot be handed to a colleague at the gate the way a card or a PIN can.
Can we export attendance to our payroll software?
Yes. Attendance is exportable as structured data with in/out timestamps per person per day, which is the format payroll systems expect.
What if someone isn't recognised one morning?
They appear as an unknown-face event with a snapshot, so the record still exists and an administrator can attribute it. Repeated misses on one person usually mean their enrolment needs refreshing, which takes seconds.
