Can we take the punching machine off the reception wall entirely?
Yes, and for most tricity offices that is the reason they call. Attendance is read from a camera at the entrance, so there is no device, no queue at half past nine and nothing for a visitor to look at. Staff walk in as normal. The record is a timestamped entry with a face image attached, which also settles the disputes a card system cannot, because a card can be handed to a colleague and a face cannot.
How does it handle contractor staff we do not employ directly?
The same way as employees, in a separate group. Housekeeping, security and cafeteria staff are enrolled once and their hours are recorded independently of what the contractor invoices, which is usually the first time a company can check one against the other. Access can be limited to the floors and hours their contract actually covers.
Our building has three entrances and two tenants. Is that a problem?
No, it is the ordinary case here. Each entrance is a camera, and each tenant is a separate account with its own people and its own alerts, so neither sees the other's data. What matters at survey time is that at least one camera per entrance is mounted at a height where it sees faces rather than the tops of heads.
For the Zirakpur warehouse, what actually gets flagged?
Three things, in order of how often they earn their keep: a vehicle entering or leaving outside scheduled hours with its number plate logged, movement in a loading bay when no dispatch is booked, and anyone crossing the yard boundary after the last shift. Interior aisle coverage is usually the last thing to switch on, not the first.
Who handles the tricity, and does the Chandigarh location complicate anything?
