Electricity running cost
Watts × hours ÷ 1000 × tariff, with whole-system power and the incremental project power kept apart.
Everything runs in your browser. Nothing is sent anywhere, and no figure is saved or put into a link.
Your numbers
Cameras, recorder and switch together, from their labels or the quotation.
Usually just the processing unit. This is the figure that belongs in a project case.
Running cost
Use the wattages on your own equipment. PoE losses belong once, at the switch — counting them at the camera as well double-counts the same electricity.
No PGAK device wattage is assumed here. Ask for the figure for the processing unit you are quoted and enter it above.
How it is calculated
kWh = watts × hours ÷ 1000. Cost = kWh × tariff.
Worked example
A 60 W processing unit running 24 hours a day for 30 days at ₹8 per kWh, beside a 400 W whole system.
43.2 kWh added, costing ₹346 — against 288 kWh and ₹2,304 for the whole system.
Formula version 1.0.0. Reviewed 23 September 2026.
What this does not tell you
Uses the wattages on your own equipment labels or quote. PoE losses are counted once, at the switch, never twice.
Published because buyers need the number. It is not a claim that PGAK sells a product for it.
Want this checked against your own site?
A PGAK business-case assessment goes through your cameras, your quotation and the numbers you entered here, and says plainly where the case is weak. Ask what your site would draw.
